Thru-Paddle of the Yellowstone River

Today I leave on a trip down the Yellowstone River with my old smokejumper buddy Jim Griffin. We will raft from the Park boundary to Livingston, Montana and from there I will continue by canoe to where the Yellowstone runs into the Missouri River just across the Montana/North Dakota border.

Sounds like a lot of fun! Congratulations on completing the Desert Trail. I'll be checking out the photos

Planning to thru paddle next summer, looking to use a ocean kayak sit on top. Interested in best low water time, interested in camping and fishing the trip. Looking for direction on all of it. If you were to do it again, what would you do different. Thanks, also have enjoyed reading about all your adventures.

    1. I've got some more info on that trip here: http://bucktrack.com/Yellowstone_River.html. I can't think of a single thing I'd change on that trip! It was a very enjoyable experience.
